Well I'm not a spider owner yet, but I've been putting in the research and diligence and am on the hunt for the right car currently.
A bit about myself: I work as a commercial real estate appraiser, hence the handle. Currently live in Huntington Beach, CA. Certified car nut, started out with an 88' Honda Prelude (all I could afford at 16!), graduated to a 99' Miata when I did my undergrad, went overseas for grad school and work, came back to an 05' Accord and now I'm driving a '13 GTI. It's great car, superb refinement, great on gas, awesome city pep, practical hatch back and has a decent a/c but it doesn't do much to melt the stress of work away. Enter the 124 spider! I'm burning to get back to the roots of a sports car and the pleasure of simply driving.
For the quick stuff I co-drive (more like threw money into) a 99' S2000 with my brother. We typically do auto-x events and have some track days earmarked. It handles great and is quick: about 220 whp and 160 ft-lbs torque with a mid-range focused power band via AEM EMS and full valve train to alleviate any 13k rpm mis shifts

I'm looking forward to spending some time on the forum and meeting folks in person. Seems like there's a supportive and friendly bunch here, hope I can contribute as well.
Regards,
Colin
