Re: Custom Pininfarina Emblem
My wish list is for a FIAT logo in thin alum that can be bolted or maybe riveted to the valve covers. I think there is an abarth version that already exists.

I can send you the logo if that helps

Were you talking about this one, specifically, but with the Fiat logo?

Yes. But with a bit more style...i have a few ideas. Is this type of thing do-able?
Perhaps reading Fiat 124? Or even just Fiat like the second example here...just larger than this one?

Re: Custom Pininfarina Emblem
Doable? Certainly. However something like that would take so much time running on the machine that it's unlikely to be worth the investment. With a design like the one I made, it's simply a matter of taking a rectangular piece and cutting a design into it. With yours, everything that's NOT part of the design has to be removed, which opens a whole can of worms. The simplest actions, down to clamping the piece, become much more complex and time consuming once that much material is removed.
However, thinking a little more outside the box, making a mold and then casting the parts would be ideal for yours. I personally have no experience in that area but I don't see why it couldn't be done with a little practice.
Hope that made as much sense in words as it did in my head.

Indeed it does. As a woodworker i can visualize the milling process...
Re: Custom Pininfarina Emblem
Not directly Fiat related, but I made a new hatch emblem for my 280ZX track car, hinting at what lurks under the hood (the white support material dissolves away, leaving only what's in blue). I don't see any reason the valve cover emblems couldn't be done the same way.

I'm in for 2 sets. Should I work on a logo?

Re: Custom Pininfarina Emblem
Personally Id rather have just Fiat maybe with a "stripe" in front and behind but if others like the 124 i'm OK with it. For the valve cover logo I mean. this might be really cool in a small size for the glovebox door or something...
thanks!
thanks!

I actually own the top cover... The Abarth was pretty hand made

Re: Custom Pininfarina Emblem
sorry I realized I personally suggested "fiat 124". Im in for the one you've displayed. Ramzi, how do you adhere the Abarth and the 124 to the covers?
Re: Custom Pininfarina Emblem
It'd take no time to drop the 124 and see what it looks like. I'll try it when I get in to work again on Monday.
As far as attaching them, I'm not sure how the originals were done but I was thinking a thorough cleaning then a dab of hi-temp epoxy. I could also add holes for bolts or rivets.

Here's what it would look like with just the Fiat part. I added some holes so it could be riveted or bolted onto the covers if that's your thing.

Re: Custom Pininfarina Emblem
I like it with or without the 124. My only small complaint is the font looks to bubbly. At first i thought maybe sharp inside corners wouldn't work but looking back at your Z version proves otherwise. If it helps i could search for a font that might look a bit more "vintage" in feel.
