Are all dash caps created equal?

So I'm in the market for a dash cap for my 78 spider.
What brands or vendors produce/sell the best looking and fitting caps?

Any input is much appreciated!

in my opinion, none of the caps is a great solution. They all look like caps and take quite a bit of time to make fit

I will take to the upholstery shop that did the interior and see if its a canadite for leather.

My dash cap looks fine, but some of the dash wood had to have he edges sanded down so that it would fit. The lower console cap is OK, but the upper's fit I'd terrible! Wood would not even come close to fitting. I think Mark sells a fiberglass replacement for it.

Installing a dash cap in my car took a lot of trimming, careful fitting, and some reshaping with a heat gun to get it to fit well. In the end I can say it looks good and isn't obvious that it is a cap. The area around the defroster vents was the hardest part to get looking right. The opening for the glove box required the most work with the heat gun to mold it so it fit tight to the old dashboard. but it can be done so that it looks as good as new.
In the end replacing yours with a new one might be just as easy.
