It needed a lot of TLC, so I replaced the ragtop, completely rebuilt the beat engine, and repaired/replaced a number of items to put it back on the road again. It had just been repainted silver and has a red interior in pretty good shape and an automatic transmission (unfortunately,...and it leaks at the shifter seal so, I'll be having that rebuilt by someone else at some point).
Everything works and it runs great. I will need to go through the suspension and rebuild it at some point,...it sits low on the driver's side. In addition, I'll have to have someone sew upholstery for all my seats (in red) since the driver's is in poor shape.
I'm quite lucky because it has little, if any rust, and has never been hit!
While in storage, and under it's car cover, mice occupied the damn thing and I'm cleaning up after that right now. I've pressure washed the truck and interior floorboards after removing the seats and carpet. The red carpeting is in very good condition (but is minus the two rear mats), has also been pressure washed, and is ready to re-install now.
I finally registered on the site and wanted to introduce myself and the car my wife calls "Spidey".
I hope to gain more information from the forum on how to keep mice from entering the car and to get up to speed on who sells good quality parts for my Fiat at good prices anymore. I also hope to help other members as much as I can with the knowledge I've gained from my shop manual and working on my Spider all these years.
Thanks for reading.
