anyway, the outside spring and pad seem to seat ok, and when I hand spin the rotor, it's all good.
but when I situate the inner spring and slide the pad in and try the hand spin- the slots in the rotor catch on the inside of the spring clip.
I went to a non stock, slotted rotor from IAP- bad move? did I create collision points in there that won't work with my old style- long springs?
Might that straighten out when I get the caliper part attached with wedges inserted?
It doesn't seem that it would as the outside set seem to seat cleanly.
Maybe I need to sand something down in the seat of the inside spring clip so it sits a little differently?

bottom pic is spring and clip on the outside happily seated.
