It's funny how things work out sometimes RESOLVED

Post by 4uall »

On Friday Sept 20th I came home after work to find this note taped to the trunk of my car which was parked on my street

Image

Approx $4000 worth of damage

Gauged trunk, drivers side rear fender, passenger side rear fender, piece behind soft top, cracked light lens, sheared rubber bumper end

Luckily I had purchased a light set a while back and was able to secure some mint Arizona bumpers from a friend. So with the $ I will save in parts I was able to swing a deal with my garage to have Fiona completely painted

Image

Tonight I was prepping Fiona when all of a sudden

Looks like I am buying all new tires soon

$100.00 deductible and I am set. Dropping her off tomorrow and hoping to get her back soon 8)

That's great. Sounds a little like my situation, but I was only able to get half my car painted.

I'm assuming you'll paint it the same color. If so, make sure you give the body shop the paint color from your trunk or a similar Fiat color. My body shop matched the color using a camera, but the metal flakes are larger in the new metallic paint than in the original metallic brown.

Hey Jay
I had the same problem with my Mustang's tires way back when. They were Firestone 500s and had a factory problem with the steel belts separating. Firestone replaced all 4 with brand new "721s" at no cost. Did you get them locally?
If you need a drive home from the body shop, let me know.
My tires are round :D

PS nice bumpers!

Thanks Dan

Just replaced another tire not that long ago, They were on the car when I got here. Active Green & Ross has the exact sizes we need for approx $90.00 currently on sale so I am going with all new. 8) My lovely wife and awesome son are going to meet me there after work (thanks for the offer). There goes my road head  Cleaned the bumpers last night and they are going to make hew look great. Looking to do the interior in the off season in hopes of being able to park beside you at next years unveiling

The tires are Atrezzo's 185/70/R13 and are $79.28 ea until 30Nov2013

So the shop is ready to start on Fiona and I dropped all the parts off today (New bumpers, new drivers side rear light, trunk & hood). Time to hurry up and wait.

Took some final "Before" pics, hopefully the next post will be the "After" pics
