Those side boards are actually heavy duty cardboard stitched to the carpet ( on my '81 with original trunk/boot carpet )

Do you happen to have templates with measurements and stuff so that i may be able to copy you?? my two cars came without anything but the fuel tank and lines in the trunk :/
Thanks,

Re: Trunk Board and Carpet w/Pics
Looks great, any chance of posting some basic dimensions for the side boards?
Re: Trunk Board and Carpet w/Pics
Kudos
One of the best I have ever seen, I saved the pics so that I can copy you
imitation is the best form of flattery.
Mine are only slightly warped, but i have to say just looking at yours has inspired me to replace them
Thanks for all the pictures
John

Agreed... I have the wood sitting in my garage ready to be cut. Maybe the wife and I will get to it this weekend. Do you plan to waterproof the fiberboard?

Re: Trunk Board and Carpet w/Pics
The original post inspired me to do my trunk as well. Sorry my pics all came out a little blurry. I didn't bother checking them as I took them, but will keep that in mind going forward.
I put a layer of that rubber mat/pad that goes underneath a shower over my base board before covering it with carpet. Both shower mat/pad and carpet were secured with spray adhesive and stapled along the edges for durability. I carry a large tool kit in the trunk, just in case, and I thought the shower mat/pad would help keep it quiet and in place.
The side pieces were cut from a heavy cardboard I had from a furniture delivery. I spray glued carpet to both the back and the face of both pieces. I thought gluing a piece of carpet to the back side would help hold the whole thing together longer.
Making the sides from cardboard allowed me to cut them a little longer than they needed to be so I could curve them with the shape of the trunk, a little bit. They aren't super easy to get out, they pop right in with no problems but don't want to come out all that easily.
I really need to paint the inside of the trunk now that I see it in pictures.

looks really nice. but it's hard to tell from the picture which of the pork cuts you used as a template for the side pieces.
