Replacement Dashboard

I'm looking to get a new dashboard for my 1978 2000 - something different from the normal tan wood - does anyone have any recommendations?

are you asking about just the wood or a replacement dashboard? I have the wood in several different stains now

Hi Mark - I'm looking for just the wood - something a bit interesting. Can you post a link to what you have in stock?

Check the parts section. There is a guy on there selling Phillipine Mahogany and it looks great. Reasonable too.

You can also veneer over the existing wood. This company even has a peel and stick version of the veneers.

I had a custom set of carbon fiber (not vinyl imitation) dash and center console made. I think they look pretty good.

Later I changed the center of the dash and installed 2 cup holders

Here's what happens when you put about 10 coats of high gloss urethane on a walnut dash.

That looks fantastic. What model year did the wood come from? I'm asking because some were solid wood and some had a veneer.

It was purchased by the prior owner and never installed. It was solid walnut with a thin coat of lacquer. I sanded it down, then applied repeated coats (sanding in between) and then final sanding it with 2000 grit wet or dry paper then buffing it out.
