I would say vintage without seeing them in the car. I think the styles clash. Have you tried sitting them in the Spider anyway?

Install them!

I'm nearing the "what to do with my original, split, bad foam, uncomfortable, non-supportive ugly blue seats" decision. :?

This may be the answer I'm looking for!

Modern seats in a 1980 spider? Sacrilege. I wouldn't do it. Never in a million years. I think it would look like crap. On the other hand, they would look great in an 85. PM me if you want to get rid of them.

I'm off to see a guy today about getting mine redone - going to also get some matching leather to take a stab at covering the console, door panels, and I have a hankering to clad those kick panels and map pockets.... :) Thoughts?

They look like they sit pretty high on the brackets they are on. Can the brackets be removed on the new seats? Are the base demensions for depth/width comparable with OEM seats? I personally like a good mix of new and old...if done right. Good luck

The stock seats in our Fiats, unfortunately, have very little side support.Do a track day in them, and you will know what I mean.I know that Tonys car is highly modified and he does rallies,auto-x,etc.. In his case,I would install the Abarth seats in a second. They are some much more comfortable and supportive. As someone else said, you can always take them back out.In some of these cars that are completely restored to stock,it would be a different story.
