Corbeau Seat Install

Post by azruss »

Major progress this last week. got floor batting cut and put down, installed carpet kit.....the fit sucks as you can see in the picture. Next time i cut my own. polished up the door sill trim, install the plastic console. This was a blank, so came without holes and no bracket to bolt down the back. I epoxied in a piece of steel for the bracket. Also came without a back ashtray hole. It was a PITA to install, but looks like a good fit. Finally dug my corbeau seats out of the box they've been in for the last 2 years and got them installed. width fit is good, bracket fit is good. Even though they measure the same front height as factory, you sit 1-2" higher. Took the wifey for her first trip around the block. says the seat will require some lumbar support for her (requirement in any seat she sits in). I was concerned the top of the windshield would be an issue, but found i didnt pay any attention to it while driving. Looks like i could lower the seats a 1/2" without an issue. Will leave them like this until i get the top on and see if there is a problem. I do expect the seats to settle. May be an issue with the rear view mirror.

Nice seats. Looks like they are exactly what I need. What material are they covered with?

the seats are a synthetic material. can find more detail on the Corbeau site. They also come in vinyl and leather. I chose cloth for the hot arizona sun. the inner seat material is extremely thin...like T-shirt thin. Not sure why except i bought seats with seat heaters. I'm going to shop for covers for normal runabout use.

Those seats look great. Ive been looking at the Corbeau site, wondering about the fit, etc.

You used the Corbeau brackets made for Fiat? How are you going to lower the seat height if you decide to? Yours look to be their Sport Seat?

Love that dash.. can you send some more photos of that and a side profile shot of those Corbeau seats?
I'm about to pull the trigger on a set and the matching brackets but am worried they'll be too tall...

You are right to be worried about the seats being too tall. I did a post on lowering the seat Saturday night. check it out.
The dash is wood off an 1890's english piano. The console deck and a back seat step are done from the same wood. search my postings and you will find pictures of all.

Has anyone found aftermarket seats that don't raise you up more than stock?
