Had a few Hrs today so thought that I'd get stuck into the bumpers again…
Here's what I came up with and was fairly easy to do,using the existing gas struts that were already pushed in made up 2 galvanised brackets lined them up with the bolts inside the bumpers and screw on easy !

Just need another hour to bolt in the sides, must say I'm pretty happy with the way it all looks and the easy assembly.

looking good, was the angle of the side mounting point on the inside of the bumper at the correct angle?

Hi David ,
No had to make adjustments to the alinement , it took me over an hour just to get the drivers side bolt in and it was a real pain in the neck…
After measuring out the passengers side soon realised there is no way of drilling a hole without removing the fuel tank so will get stuck into it tomorrow.

Got under the car today and thought there has to be a simpler way of getting the side bolt in without removing the fuel tank,
no way you can get even a few fingers in so first removed the main fuel inlet cover…



Now with just enough space to get some kind of tool in there to hold the nylon threaded nut in place ,




It worked , all this took just over 1hr



The end results, and I couldn't be happier...









The front bumper is next on the todo list and will post pics when done…

I can't remember if you mentioned it earlier, but did you modify the springs? When I removed my front bumper the front raised up a bit. Actually leveled out and now matches the rear gap. Still too high and I will eventually address.

Car is looking really nice.

Thanks Glullot60 yes I did , installed 30mm lowered yellow King Springs , could definitely see a difference in height when the rear bumper came off but still happy with it.

Also Installed Koni yellow shocks, after driving I find them very hard on the standard setting so will adjust them to the softest setting for more comfort and the little gain in height should also improve the ride.

I recently purchased a set of yellow Konis, but only for the front for now. I plan on installing them when I refresh the front end. I've also heard from many that the softest setting on the yellow Konis is best for our cars. I haven't decided if I'm putting them on the rear yet. And springs are definitely being considered.

I enjoy observing the progress. These various forums have been so educational.
