So I picked up a pair of RX7 seats for free a while ago and wanted to see what they looked like in the Spider. After a bit of fiddling this is what I came up with. I have to put a 2 inch spacer on the rear of the seat, I think it makes the seat sit a little high. I may try and modify the plastic base of the seat to see if I can drop the front of the seat an inch. Opinions?

Re: New Seats?
Colour match looks pretty good.
The curved back and head rest arch are a nice look without being to modern.
The big one for me would be seat base height, this has been a deal breaker in all the seats I have tried.
I like it, always nice to see another option.

I like he color. You asked for opinions, so here is mine. They dont go with the car, style wise. They look out of place. But , if you like them, thats all that really matters.

I'm still not sure if I like them. If I can lower them about an inch, I may keep them in for a while. I am going to look at them again this weekend. I think the plastic base can be modified.

The RX7 seats are made to attach to a flat surface, and as you know the stock seat rails attach to a slanted surface (the front is about 2 inches higher than the rear). The 2 inch spacer is for the rear of the RX7 seat to make it level. I think I can cut .75 to 1 inch off the front of the RX7 seat, which would mean I could use a 1 inch spacer instead of a 2 inch spacer on the rear of the seat. Here is a pic of the seat base.
