Ignition coil wiring

I'm getting close to done my '81 FI Spider and I want to ensure I've got the ignition coil wiring right. I think I've got it right but I want to ensure that I didn't put the clip backwards or the wire on the wrong terminal.





And it looks like the wire clip that goes from the ignition coil to the distributor can only go in one way because of the clip.

Also I used the goop used to go between a computer CPU and the heat sink on the back of the black piece behind the coil between it and the heat sink on the car. Is this ok or what should I use?

If the terminal on the left is the negative one then it looks ok.
Did you make sure the black wire on the module connector goes to terminal marked 'C' and the red wire to the terminal marked 'B'?

Doubled checked and everything looks good connecting to the ignition coil. I noticed on the end of the module that goes to the distributor (white insulated wire with green and black wires internally) that there is a G and what looks like a W on the module. The clip went into the module with the green wire on the G and the black wire on the W. Hopefully that's right.

On the distributor side one pin is larger than the other IIRC, so I don't think it can be installed backwards.

Awesome Richard, I got everything hooked up to my motor and the one black wire to the coil I was not sure anymore. I would have started the same post today.
There is also that one single white wire with the female cable shoe, that does not go anywhere, right
I got her started, and it took about three seconds and she ran pretty smooth till I turned her off again. I am going to do the 20 min cam brake in tonight.

Should be all good, I found an old post and nobody seems to know what the purpose of that unused wire is.

Good afternoon to everyone.
I was rewiring my baby and on the coil I have two extra wires that I can't find in the drawing.
Pink and white/brown plus the wire to the cap are ok.
I have then a white and yellow wires which I can0t find in the drawing but seem to be the original cabling.

Due I have all open I'll try to follow them but if someone know already, I'll avoid the research.

If you look at the pic above you can see there is a yellow wire with a black jacket on the left.
That is the signal wire for the fuel injection.

White wire connected to the B+ and eliminated condenser next to the coil ( the distributor cap has one condenser inside already ) .
Now she starts .

I can't find this yellow wire in the diagram but it works !

I'm having issues with the "yellow" wire sheathed in black. On mine it is coaxial (2 wires an aluminum outer wire with shielded inner copper core) is this original or some PO jimmy rig. Tested coil 1.1 ohms across terminals and 11.8 from terminal to dist wire. I'm going a little nut here trying to sort this.

brad shows the brown/white wire going from Coil- to #1 ecm. He doesnt show the yellow wire in the sheath on any of he schematics. Where does it go?
