Hope you enjoy this video. It is a reminder of what is inherently lurking inside our "small" 2L motors!

Can't help but feel the need to replicate as close as possible this beast living within our midst!

Enjoy!

To be honest that's not good driving at all! As a motorsport photographer I've seen countless Abarth cars and prototypes racing on both circuit and hill climb events and I can tell you that I've seen many drivers pushing hard these beasts but just a few of them were really driving the old school way (completely sideways and with huge throttle and braking control).
I'm pasting the link of a photo I took some months ago of one of the most beautiful engine I've ever seen, an Abarth 2000cc in full racing spec from an Abarth 2000 OT Periscopio, one of my favourite cars ever made. Glorious sound and utterly beautiful machine!

killer video. The secret to fast is lose the weight. I'm sure this is a 1000# car give or take.

I can't speak for the driver's skill apart from the fact that he is way out of my league!

But I can say the video proves again how exciting our Fiat cars are considering the bargain they are worth! I may not drive like the guy in the video does, but I "feel" just like him while driving my car around some wonderful back roads in upstate NY!

Cheers to Aurelio Lampredi and his sonorous twin-cam!

Yeah, I do agree that the Lampredi twincam (or "bialbero Lampredi" as we call it in Italy) is a really awesome engine.
And as my signature says: to add speed, add lightness! I'm planning on removing all the unneccesary bits from the car, I have a lot of friends racing in the Lotus Light Car Club Challenge here in Italy and once you try a superlight car you can't get enough of lightweight more than horsepower.

Glad you like the picture too, if you want to see more images of the amazing place where I took that photo have a look at these two link (noticed also that the engine I've posted before was a 1300 and not a 2000):

Thanks man. All those cars are visible at Luigi Moreschi's workshop at Quingentole, Mantova, Italy and most of them are for sale. If you happen to come to Italy that place is almost better than a museum and he always has a huge variety of cars in the shop. Otherwise you can see some of those cars during races, he uses to race some of them with his customers. Last time I saw him behind the wheel it was 2 months ago and he was driving a Chevron B27S with a Ford DFV engine (Cosworth F1 engine).

My apologize to MIGHTY 8 for the off topic...

I'm with mighty8 even if the driving isn't as good as it could be ...the guy is waaaaay out of my league as well! LOL
THAT is for certain why I made my comment... Driving a spider or similar is too fun for sure... I miss mine so that is why I am getting it finished. Very nice pics of the twin cam too... 8)

Hi,

In addition to power and lightness add smoothness: Every frightened twitch and unnecessary and indecisive move of the steering wheel is a waste of momentum...

"Drive it like you stole it".

Ciao,
Mark
