I have a 1974 spider and have made many improvements to it. One of them is fitting Fiat Croma 287mm front ventilated rotors and 4 spot Willwood calipers. The car stops very well now and it's a massive improvement over the standard set up. The brake pedal pressure has improved but it's still has a some travel before the brakes begin to bite in. I've noticed Mr Fiat has been selling this booster and master cylinder for the last few years.

I did some research and it seems to be the same set up used in the Volumex spiders along with 4 spot calipers. It should provide a much better brake pedal feel and control as both the master cylinder and booster are so much bigger. Apparently it fits with no modifications. Has anyone purchased and fitted this booster to their spider? I'd love to know if it's a worthwhile upgrade.
Thanks
Angelo

Re: Power brake booster.
it appears to me to be the exact same booster that you already have. as far as the master cylinder, different sizes internally do determine pedal travel and pressure exerted. do your research before changing master cylinder sizes. what i would do is see what size master cylinder was used in the original car your brakes were designed for. but as you are using wilwood calipers you will have to figure out piston area vs master cylinder size, in my opinion you need a slightly larger master cylinder probably 7/8" where the 124 uses a 3/4". smaller diameter = more pressure less pedal effort more travel, the opposite happens when you increase size

I went down this path already. You can read about it here.

I would just council you to check the ratio between the MC and the Calipers carefully before you make a change. This was not something I full appreciated when I started that project.
My current setup is Willwood 4 pots, willwood MC and a Summit Racing Dual Diaphragm booster.

Where did you guys source brackets for the conversion?
Re: Power brake booster.
I would call Wilwood. They are experts on all things having to do with braking.
