heated seats

Post by azruss »

Contrary to popular belief, Arizona is not hot all the time. In fact, the best top down times are on the cool side. So i decided to put in heated seats so the wifey would be interested in cruising on such days. When I relayed the ignition, i added a 4th relay for this very purpose. Here is how it lays out. The seats came with 10a fuses for each seat i didnt include in the schematic.

YUP! free hand without so much as a compass or a ruler.   If you believe that, i have a bridge in Brooklyn I'd like to sell you.
The basic schematic came from Brad Artigue's awesome 80-82 schematic. All the coloring, relays, plug pattern, etc . I added on. I used a simple photo editor. So I guess I can lay claim to the stuff in the bottom right corner.

Yes, it works great. The only issue i had was the fuse in the light relay circuit blew (15a). I moved up to 25a and have had no issues. I designed the system so the key had the same voltages on all points and all the OEM fuses were still performing their usual tasks. The relays specifically take the load off the ignition switch.
