Insurance company want a pix for "proof of life". Wont insure unless the car is 3/4 finished and insurance isnt active for 30 days after app, so I finally got enough hardware on the car for the pix. From what i can see, i need to get out my can of black and work on the wells and the grille opening.

Re: dressin' up
Az,
Wow, what insurance company? Are you going for historic plates and classic car insurance?
I don't think Haggarty, for one, would have such restrictions. A car under restoration needs to be insured too. And classic car insurance is very cheap, less than $200 on our cars. Their restrictions are't bad.
FWIW, your car isn't to my style, but you do beautiful work. Looking forward to seeing your interior. Its been cool watching your vision come to life so quickly.

Re: dressin' up
the best quote i got was from Gundy at $218. Hagerty was in the high 300s along with everyone else. No mileage restriction. covers pleasure drives, shows and rallies, going out to dinner, trips to the shop, . Does not cover running errands, work or work commute. Car must be stored inside. agreed coverage $15k, liability and collision, no deductable (taking a $500 or higher deductable dropped my rate a very small amount). Liability coverage is the same from all the classic insurance carriers.
Yes I will do classic car plates. I understand that the cost of plates is about the same with this low of a value.
Bought a classic mirror. the screws were so soft, i broke 2 out of 3. broke at the head so they were easy to extract. No alt light this time out.
Grill is from a 70 and it is at the powdercoaters. Still havent got the trunk lid back. Been riding the painter pretty hard. He was supposed to reshoot it yesterday.
Door handles, locks, and latches are now done. Next up is roll-ups and wings.

I got my historic AZ plates in Sept, and it was like $70 for 2 years, including the plates.

Rockets?????? I assume you mean rockers. Everything below the door line is bolt on fiberglass of my own design. I designed and built them back in the mid 80s. The front air dam was extensively modified adding the opening for the lower radiator feed as well as tucking it under the car a little more to help with ground clearance.Nice car, what did you use to get the flare on the rockets

I like it. One of a kind. And I thought I was the only one driving around with one seat and no interior. Will be worth it when it all comes together.
Re: dressin' up
I really like the way the front come out with the bumper . what are you doing for the rear of the car. might look good to connect the rear bumper like so. (this is from a 70s coupe )

Re: dressin' up
It's scary to think i'm half way thru year 7 and its still not road legal. The goal is to have it done by fall.
I retro'd the back. 80s tail lights, early split bumpers, removed big license plate lights and installed "bug eye" lights in the end of the bumpers. Lowered license plate to 70s location. retained the 80s key location. Havent found my "2000" key plate. thinking about doing something custom there with my laser engraver guy. I have to have him reproduce the plastic mfg tag that goes on the door sill. The back does have a custom look with the rear corner rockers.
