With all my steering linkage, upper and lower arms, and balljoints removed, I'll be putting it all back together soon. My question is Is it a good idea to grease the balljoint studs ?
A little lithium grease would make dis-assembly easier at some future date. But, would it make it more difficult to tighten and torque the nuts? Would the ball joints spin and make for more problems than its worth?
If you have a regular nut, none lock nut, use it to tighten the ball joint first and then remove that nut and then put the lock nut on. You will find it makes it a lot easire to get the ball joint seated. I like to put mine toghther dry, but I don't see anything wrong with putting grease or anti-szie on them. I just don't what mine coming apart until I decide to take them apart.
