Any type of ducting or vents in the front end with regards to the engine by need to be well thought out. Hood scoops look cool, but can cause performance issues. Its very possible you can create a high pressure zone in the engine bay that will not allow a sufficient volume of air to flow through the radiator. You may create the convers of what you are trying to achieve, a car with cooling problems.

Ideally the hood scoops would be sealed to an air box that only feeds the carbs (which is the way 99.9% of all hood scoops are configured). However that does present another issue that Bernie alluded to. You don't want water to be sucked/forced into the engine bay compartment. Even more so you don't want water to be sucked into the carb, unless you want to wreck the engine.

Does the car have the factory belly pan/splash shield? As it plays a huge role in creating a low pressure zone in the engine bay so the air can actually flow into and through the rad. Without the belly pan/splash shield the air traveling under the car can be forced up into the engine bay and out through the front of the rad. If your car does not have the shield, a front air dam/chin spoiler will help direct the air up into the grill opening.

I suspect everything will be fine. I will comment once the car is back together....

I actually thought about doing this. But mine is the small bump hood . I don't like how it would work there. On the big bump hood such a yours, I think it works better.I wouldn't even worry about a thing with regards to water etc..I have had two ram-air cars. The amount of water that enters the scoop is minute. I wouldn't worry about it. Also water injecting into the engine won't hurt they have kits for that. IMO.. :)

Cheers!

IIRC, there are only kits to inject vapor, and not water.
vapor can be compressed, water cannot.

Still either way... Not going to hurt it by having scoops... Not enough water to hurt... :)
