V6 Engine swaps..
Been on this forum over 15 years now (I think )... And for those of you who don't remember or know.. I built a custom 124 spider that was powered by 4.3L V6 and I am working on building a second version with improvements from the first which was more or less a test bed for this new version I am building right now. I have been contacted by several people recently via fiatspider.com and there seems to be some interest in the swap I did.
So, I am more than willing to share my experiences doing this and could possibly help some folks who are thinking about doing this but haven't contacted me. I am also interested in seeing what others have done and or are working on as far as a 4.3L or similar swap goes. I am certainly not the expert in this but I do have the experience and this is not an easy swap by any means. At any rate, I think it would be cool to share our ideas and thoughts. I would love it if people would post pics of their work too..
Here 's my website again in case you haven't been there...

Any thoughts/research/insight on adapting a smaller higher rev-ing DOHC engine?

Re: V6 Engine swaps..
My thinking is usually more toward bigger.... But I would not do a v8 unless it was aluminum and an small... Another neat swap would be the ferrari 2.4 liter v6 that is in the Fiat dino... I think that would be cool swap. And it fits your criteria for a high revving power plant..
Cheers!

Higher revving than a Fiat TC? You'd have to get a motorcycle engine...Raze wrote:Any thoughts/research/insight on adapting a smaller higher rev-ing DOHC
A build 2 liter with proper parts will rev to 8000, an 1400/1600 to 9000. Do you want to rev higher than that?

Re: V6 Engine swaps..
I think I remember an article in Car Craft magazine (from my youth... ) about a Spider with a early sixties Buick aluminum block V8 from a Skylark ... someone even made an adapter for it. Always thought that would be a cool thing to do.

Re: V6 Engine swaps..
yes a mitsubishi v6, i talked to guy croft about putting 3 42dcnf's on it, after debate on his web site about it i decided to keep the efi syustem. the biggest problem was going to be 8-12" ram pipes sticking thru the hood to give me the runner length required

My 4.3L V6 builds 300+hp and 350ftlbs of torque @ about 5000+ RPMSDaniel wrote:my 2L can handle 9k
No need to turn 9000 RPMS... I thought RAZE was talking smaller higher revving V6. Hence the my comment about the Dino v6..
