A possible windscreen option?

I came across this web sitethat sells windscreens for serveral types of convertibles, including for MG and Miatas. So I emailed them for dimensions on their screens, to see if they could work in a Spider. I wonder if anyone has come across these and tried them. Pretty reasonable pricing, especially for the Miata.

I have one of thier Miata windscreens on my Spider and it fits nice. Anouther member worked with them to come up with backets to fit our spiders. I believe if you ask them that they now have them to sell with the windscreen. I made my own brackets as I wanted mine to be a quick change on and off without the use of tools

Schedule 40 PVC conduit 4 - "T" connectors - 1/2" I.D.PVC water pipe 2 - 90 degree elbows - 1/2" I.D.PVC water pipe PVC cleaner & cement 1 - small roll, black fiberglass window screen - attach w/acetone based plastic cement. 5/8" I.D. rubber vacuum hose, cut for "t" inserts - attach using contact cement; Krylon flat black plastic spray paint.

Don, I had replaced my rear seat with a plywood deck/speaker box so I mounted the screen on tubular chrome uprights
going thru the deck ...

You wouldn't want to go thru all that. Personally wanted a solution that was quickly removable, allowed the use of the boot without cutting a slit for a bracket and didn't attach to the headrests.

People have fashioned their own brackets that attach to various bolts on the convertible top frame, like this one.

It would be great if Raceland has developed their own brackets for the Spider.

Here's another one that I really like. I think it's a Raceland screen as well and it blocks air getting sucked in over the rear seat. I might give this one a try ...


During the winter (such as it is in SoCal) I put a piece of cardboard behind the rear seats to block the air flow below the windscreen from disrupting the heater air. This one should help that situation.

Nope, sure don't. Raceland makes several like that, though, for SAAB and BMW. Don't know what the dimensions are.
