Had a piece of plex glass cut, but when I put it together it was slightly thicker and the top ring won't snap around the base, so I have to get a thinner piece

the lense was a tad to thick that i got, now the top ring wont snap shut, so i went back and we see if they have a thinner piece of plex, can't use glass,they told me that the glass would snap when they try drill the hole for the stem,
any one one have a better idea on glass?

i said ," maybe u can just make a notch in the glass"
