The Never Ending search

Post by 1GooDDaDDy »

Hiya Folks,
Over the last 10/15 years I 've been saving all of the extra parts and pieces from my various Spiders I have owned. If I needed something I would normally find it in one of the many boxes I've stashed here and there. In a pinch I'd buy it outright thru one of the many Fiat vendors out there in the "ethers". But after searching on my own for months, I've come to an impasse and am resigned to asking for help from one of the Fiat Folks on the forum. I've pretty well got everything I need for the final restoration of my 73' Spider...except one of these:

Another veiw:

The photo is of the right hand passenger side chrome bumper bracket that holds the bumper to the side of the car. The photo is the right hand side. What I need is the drivers or left hand side bracket, in any condition. (I'm really pretty good at refurbishing most parts on my own).

Any Ideas guys? There's a Spider-guy here in Sacramento that more than likely has one or two of the little guys laying around his place but I hate doing any business with him. He's way overpriced for the greasy non-functional stuff he has, and has an attitude like he's doing you a big, big favor for selling it to you in the first place to boot. Miserable man.
Thanks.
I'll keep a watch out for any news.

YeLLoWBoat,
I can't believe it. I've searched around the world for that little thing, and you are less than 15/20 miles from me. In the words of "Rick" from "Cassablanca" fame, "This could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship". I'll even come to you, thru rain , sleet, twisters, floods etc.

I'll E-mail you on the details. Thanks much neighbor.

Hi YeLLoWboAt,
Well, I'm not ready to start a whole new restoration with a "new" car, but I'll be happy to check out all the goodies you might have. It should be fun on a very rainy day to talk and do things Fiat.
