Door lock cylinders

Post by 124ADDHE »

Hello. Just looking at swapping doors to the old style but cannot find the keys for the old pushbutton locks; does anyone know if the lock cylinders from my 81 will fit/work in my old pushbutton handles? Thanks

No... the later locks are longer. The tumblers can be interchanged however. So theoretically you can "re-key" you early locks to fit your later keys if the patter of the key is the same.

To check... see if the '81s door key will even fit into the lock cylinder of your early car. If so, its not too hard to move the tumblers around to make the key work
