DFEV problem?

Post by donm »

My car runs great with the new 32/36 DFEV after the engine warms up but before that, during the warm up period, it runs very rough. The choke seems to work OK and the mixture screw and fast idle are set properly but there has to be something wrong here with the way the engine runs when cold. I never had this problem with my old ADHA. Anyone have any ideas on what the problem might be?

my new air filter on my dfev came with a plastic connector for the vent tube
after a few miles it also ran like crap when cold
i opened the filter to find the cap came off and down the carb
stoping the choke from working
after i put it back together tight then it was ok
when you do everything correct people arent sure youve done anything at all (futurama)

Thanks for the help. It turns out Mark was right; the choke needed adjustment.
