Another Seat Mod
Thought I would share my seat swap. First I scored a pair of leather buckets seats out of a 77 porsche 911 got them home and here is how I got them in the car. First I removed the stock seats as well as the stock seat mounts. I then cleaned where I was going to weld in some stud mounts. I then got some 1/8 inch by 1-1/2 inch flat stock and made partial cuts so I could ben the flat stock into the shape I needed. Once they were shaped I welded all the joints. Next I welded the stud plates I made in the car then assembled them to the seat rails and mounted them in the car. Here is the link to the pictures of the project.http://photobucket.com/OsosBobFiatRestoMod. By the way can someone inform me how to post the pictures directly? I have pulled the engine and I'm in the process of re-building it. So far I have been porting and polishing the intake and exhaust and a whole lot of cleaning and painting.

For posting pics, first put them up on a site like photobucket.com. You can't load them directly from your computer.
In your posting here, hit the "img" button above, with the cursor where you want the picture to appear. Go back to photobucket, hover over your picture and a drop down menu will appear. Click on "direct link" and the message will appear: "copied".
Go back to your post here and make sure the cursor is exactly in between the 2 "img" messages. Right click and hit paste and the web code for the picture will appear. When you post, the picture should be there too!
You may have to resize them to get them to display properly here.

Re: Another Seat Mod
First Shot is the removal of the old seat mounts. I bought some 1/8" X 1-1/2" flat bar and made partial cuts where I would make bends. Here is the new mounts prior to welding. I made some bolt mounts using same flat bar and 10MM studs Welded them in and preped the metal with some rust stop them mocked up the new mounts. . Finally I mounted the seat rails on the new mounts, mounted the rails and mounts to the seats and bolted them into the car. .

Re: Another Seat Mod
Yes they are, if you want I can give you measurements. Keep in mind I did take a hammer to the cross braces a bit, not too much though, to get the seats as low as I could. I believe they are the same night (bottom cushion) as stock.
