Researching mufflers. Was hoping to see the sound clip by the end of this thread. LOL. I like to research everything even if I can't afford it right now. I just jot it down on my wishlist.

the flowmaster muffler will give you an aggresive tone that you seek without being too loud
I think Flowmaster by its self is on the loud side

Here's a Flowmaster 952060. 1-3/4" in and out. Generic chrome tip. Does drone a bit on the highway. Click on image to play.

This is a 2L with 1800 intake, Miller's Mule 1" Spacer, DFEV 32/36, 4-2-1 FI, and Auto Ricambi 79-80 mid muffler and rear exhaust sections.

Currently I have the stock 1981 exhaust still in place. The second muffler or whatever it is seems to be rotted. My CAT seems okay still. Hmmmmm

hey 124joe
Your system sounds sweet in that video. I am just about ready to have my rebuild put back in my 82' FI I also bought one of Allison's snake headers can't wait to hear how it sounds with my dual tip ansa. Cheers.

Is swapping out the whole system pretty easy in a 1981 FI? The manifold looks like it has relatively easy access.
