New Linkage Solution for 32/36DFEV Carbs

Post by So Cal Mark »

I've sourced a new linkage adapter to make the 32/36DFEV swap much easier. This linkage adapter will thread onto the stock link rod. For 77-80 models merely unscrew the quick connect on the link rod and thread this adapter on, then attach it to the carb lever. It uses a heim joint for smooth operation. For 75-76 models with a cable rather than link rod, thread the cable nut into the heim joint end. Remove the ball from the end of the stock cable and insert it into the cable nut. Attach the heim joint to the hole in the bottom of the lever and you're done :D
These are in my ebay store now and will be on my website in a day or two.

It did work on the 71 but the angle of the lever on the DFEV is not quite right for the ball joint. I had to buy a length of threaded rod and bend it to get the angle necessary. Without it the primary would not close completely.

Thanks Mark, this has been a fun project.
