Well, had a chance to go out and look at it briefly before it got too late, i had to take a flashlight with me to see.
When i got there i noticed the rear window of the top was laying in the back seat and all wrinkled up. there was some water siting on the seat, but luckily there was an old towel up front that I could throw there for some temp relief. So, one thing I'm gonna need is a new window. I've looked through the catalogs and I didn't notice whether or not I could buy that, but probably, right? I'll go check again.
I did find the original manual, so I grabbed that and read through it. some useful information in there!
Center console is less than perfect, but still in one piece. all buttons appear to have movement, but battery is dead so no testing anything. it has power windows (did they all?) and the front seats are in perfect condition, so either they were kept in good shape or replaced by the previous owner. Back seats appear to be in excellent shape as well, but I'm concerned about the water that's there right now. I have the VIN and I saw some VIN registry so I'll submit it there too.
The top is excellent on the outside, but peeling(?) on the inside. are there supposed to be rear speakers? I need to see some pics of the back seat cause the side panels look like they are incomplete, but I'm not sure how.
Popped the hood and it looks like an engine. pretty dirty, couple of hoses that looked crappy (intake system) Did notice that there was no battery up there (didn't know it was in the trunk!)
Car has all badges, body is nearly perfectly straight. there is some bubbling around the wheel wells.
Tires are Fuh-Lat, probably rotted as well.
Didn't look in the trunk cause I didn't have keys (there isn't a release in the car is there?)
sorry for the useless post, but I'm excited about this project and thought i'd share with ya all.
I'll take pictures and post them sometime...

you should remove that rear seat and make sure the water isn't laying in the floor, rusting away!
The key to replacing the window is the condition of the top. If the top is dry rotted, the window replacement won't work very well. And the price of a window alone isn't much cheaper than a top. Try World Upholstery for a new top. Good feedback from forum members and reasonable prices

well, i suppose that the only way to know the true condition of the top is try to fold it up, but it looks like it's in super good condition. I will definitely be checking out the water damage asap.So Cal Mark wrote:Danno

Don't waste your time trying to replace just the back window. World Upholstery has really inexpensive (but good quality) through expensive (and really nice quality) tops. I paid a whopping $132 for my vinyl top. After almost three years, it looks like new still. They've gone up since then, but are still incredibly low priced. Delivery came in 10 days as promised. And, no, I don't work for them or even know the owners. I'm just a really happy customer.
