Have you ever seen one go for that much? There are some nice restorations out there but 16K?

Re: How much is *your* Spider worth?
It has often been noted here and elsewhere that it is far less expensive to find and purchase an older car in good shape than to pay less for a beat up model and fix it up yourself. The prices listed to this website suggest why: The hours of labor plus the cost of parts needed to restore a car can be far more than the street value of the vehicle.
This shop - in many ways an appealing place that I'd personally love to visit -- apparently sells Spiders that have received a lot of such attention. The prices shown, while in no way reflecting the present market, probably do fairly reflect the time and effort that have gone into the cars themselves.
Their basic point, that for less than the cost of a Miata one can have a somewhat 'rare' European sportscar, is true. And if they do good work and guaranty their vehicles there may indeed be a market for what they are doing.
I hope so. Such shops raise the value of our own sadly undervalued Spiders.
I wish them well.
I'll also add this: My car is definitely worth 12 to 16K. To me.

Hi Guys,
I couldn't get the link to work either. On my car I have all of the extra's like SoCal headers, 95A alt., 250 dash, reduction starter, auto Recambi aluminum rad., ceramic coated items on engine, 15" Rota's with Racing tires, Custom exhaust, roll bar, complete rust free custom body with paint, Black chasis bottom, Canvas top, IAP lowering springs, Koni shocks, and everything else either new or like new not counting all the other custom things I've made like carbon fiber bumperettes.
I think I have receipts adding up to about $15,000-$16,000. This doesn't count for 2 1/2 years of extensive labor.
I have to say I didn't only do this for the love of the car, I did it for the experience of restoring a car. This was my first restoration and I have learned a lot.
Can someone post a usable link?

Re: How much is *your* Spider worth?
Just a little note, from experience if a shop is completely restoring a Spider than the budget would have to be closer to $30K than 16K. The hours add up fast...

I seem to recall that Roadster Salon and eBay seller luxurycarswholesale had the same Fiat inventory - at least for a while. Anyone know if it's really the same business?

Re: How much is *your* Spider worth?
Just thought you might like to see what Spiders and Coupes are fetching Downunder. Remember, as a right-hand-drive country, we never saw the Spider imported to Oz, so they are much rarer than the Coupes which were imported by Fiat during the 60s and 70s.
$16,000 would buy you a very tidy Spider, but not not one in top original concours condition.

Re: How much is *your* Spider worth?
i seen lots of pictures posted thu this site and i will agree, if u get a spider that pretty much all restored then u are farther ahead( i think so )
i got a 69 that i paid 8 grand for. runs awesome. leaks a little oil. body is is awesome shape, interior is excellence tires great
so any change i make i am making it a better car and not starting out with a rusty car or need paint right away ETC
i am very happy with what i paid
i have a 69 in my garage that i was going to restore so buying this one saved me i think
