I'm using twill weave carbon fabric.

I know exactly what your talking about. I think I may have to do the scoops as one piece then just go around them.
I might have to do this in several different pieces. I've tried to see how one piece would work and there's no way to do it in one.

hmm yea that is tricky. You could probably do that. I have had no problem laying carbon up on top of cured stuff, but I think you will still have to make quite a few relief cuts towards the front of the bubbles.
I'm assuming you are only doing this in carbon because it is awesome? There isn't really any other point, is there?

Your right, I had to make a few relief cuts to get this far. You can see the marker marks as they were where I cut it.
Just wanted to make something no one has. Carbon Fiber is awesome. I don't want to go overboard though.
It looks black from about 6' away so it's not overwhelming.

I think it is really cool (along with the rest of your project). And if you ever make a full hood out of carbon, I'm sure you would have a few takers if you wanted to sell some.

I'm getting it done. I'm out of carbon so this has to do.
I was able to put it on in two pieces.

That looks really nice! How many layers did you do?
FYI, when I trimmed the stuff I laid up I used a Dremel with a cutting disc. It worked really nicely and offers a nice clean edge. If you don't have one (which I would be kind of surprised of based on all the other toys you seem to have ) A special carbon scissors would do the job, but isn't quite as smooth.
Out of curiosity, what did you use to trim when you did the bumperettes and spoiler?

I used two layers. I wanted three but ran out. I use my orbital to sand the edges smooth.
I use a sanding sponge with emery cloth and finish it off wet sanding from 220-1200 grit.

Finally done with the hood liner. It looks pretty nice.
I can't show a pic of it on the hood yet. I have to clean all that clay off.
