seat belt for rear "package shelf"

OK. Shovel on the derision, the guffaws, the "not DOT compliant" stuff, and all the rest. I just wonder if anyone has ever thought of adding a seat belt of some kind to the rear of a late model Pininfarina - yes, the package shelf is not a seat, and it's not proper, and all that. But if you just happen to need to be 3 once in a while for a short trip, wouldn't it be better to have a belt, and if someone has done it, could you please share thoughts, insights, sources?
I need to replace the OEM front belts anyway, as they are chewed. I was going to use this place:

I'm guessing a generic lap belt would be the easiest setup. Steal a set off a extended cab pickup rear seat at the local u pull it car yard for ALOT less. That's where I'm heading next weekend to get "new" belts for my car. MY 2 cents.

must be for someone very short legged as there is no leg room whatsoever in a spider behind the front seats.

My wife and I are not tall, my young son would fit with seats up a bit. Not ideal, but if the occasion arises, I'd prefer to be prepared. In a few years my son will be too big to squeeze back there!

Here is the new back seat in my 77 spider.
Just used generic lap belts from Advance Auto.

I put a single rear seatbelt in my back seat. I picked up 3 mechanical chrome lap belts (looks like old airplane belts) from Amazon for a cheap price and drilled through the rear seat screw holes mounting the seat belts through the body with 5/8" grade 5 bolts and fender washers.
