nice to discover such a big community lovers of Italian Fiat Spider... even better discover all of you appreciate Italian car spirit although you are so far from here..

to get back to what is in common btw us I'm a proud owner of a '79 124 Spider America CS2 carborated (California state version) imported when it was not in a good shape and now feeling much better

it is almost fully original although a lot of times the idea to mount european chrome bumbers come to my mind.. but so far I always said to myself... no.. I see miles on my speedometer... so this is american...

Big day yesterday as Ferrari finally wins one at Silverstone.

One of the guys in our club took his Spider to Italy while he was stationed there, and it always drew a crowd wherever he went. Fiat Spiders were, and probably still are, a rarity in Italy.

hard to say how many spiders are currently running here... for sure it is very appreciated and it is a car always loved by italians..

generally speaking "veteran" car are rarity since keep a car for a long time is very expensive here, mainly for taxation, so I guess most of them went destroyed when not used as daily car.. you start having "tax discount" as soon as the car is 30 yrs

also consider that is not easy to find an USA version in good condition for less than 9000 / 10000 Euros and european versions are even more expensive (a good 1800 twin weber flight to 16.000 euros) .. this is also the reason why there are a lot of people buying it in USA and bringing it here

big communities are for sure in Germany and Netherlands

oooo no no.. by european version I don't mean Spider Europa but previous versions (till '79) twin carborated (1800 and 1600 cc)
