It kind of depends on the tool you use. A big breaker bar, probably not. An electric impact wrench, yes.
Its a good idea to remove, or at least protect it with a piece of thin plywood, masonite, or foamcore board so the rad fins and tubes don't get damaged if your tool slips or suddenly breaks loose. Radiators are expensive and fragile.
The nut is 38mm, but 1.5" is also a good fit and can be found easier.

To undo the crank pulley w/o removing the radiator put a socket/breaker bar on it, and rest the breaker bar on the left (driver's) inner fender/box section. Put wood/reg under it, to protect the finish. Put the car in neutral, undo the coil wire, and operate the starter for just a second. The rotation of the crank will undo the pulley nut.
This sounds pretty drastic, and the potential for a mishap is there, however I never had any problems doing it.

The torque spec for that nut is 100+ ft.lbs., so it is not an easy twist-off.
One mechanic I know drills a slot at the front of the bellhousing, and jams the flywheel with a prybar. That trick, like using the starter, would never work for me. Murphy would be waiting in the wings with a smile on her face.
The radiator does not need to be completely removed; just detach the lower hose and fan connections, and raise the rad enough to get a line on the nut. The grille needs to come out, of course, and you will also most likely need to raise the engine to the limits of the engine mount studs in order to clear the sway bar. Don't forget to begin with the engine at TDC, so you can validate pulley orientation, old vs. new.

You need a chain wrench, safe easy. The starter method may work, I have seen folks do it on cars, but wow, not me.
