There is a huge thread/debate on the ''New Spider'' going on here viewtopic.php?f=3&t=29720.
However,I have never seen the pictures you have posted. All I can say is "Please God,No"!!!!!! I think I threw up in my mouth. That thing is beyond Fugly. It looks like a 500 2 seater. If that is what Fiat comes up with,I think its safe to say they wont be selling a lot of them.

I know I may be in the minority, but I don't like the look of the new 500.I have driven all the different models, and I love the Abarth.I got to drive potential buyers around VIR (Virginia International Raceway) in Abarths owned by Fiat.Yep...I got to beat on their cars!!!! That being said,I love to drive it but hate to look at it. I really don't like the rendering of the car in this thread! :(

I'd say this one looks more like an 850 Spider than a 124 Spider. Perhaps they can use that name instead?

Guess we'll know by September, but it doesn't make any difference to me. I like what I have now.

Have to admit, FIAT isn't doing anything in their return to the US that is generating any kind of excitement.

They are who they are, and the original 124 was an abnormality.

Wow......so much for anyone in Fiat having an imagination...looks like a 500 crossed with a Kia. They could really push into the U.S. market with a sleek low to mid priced convertible ..........Wait they did that too bad it ended in 1982. How would anyone think that this "new" is going to be popular?

Pulled up at the lights a couple of weeks ago. A couple wind down the window of their pretty new 911 next to me. "The wife wants to know what that car is, she wants one". "It's a Fiat, a spider", "No sh*t!?, when did Fiat start selling cars like that", "In the late 60s", "wow, I can't remember them, and the wife wasn't born then!".....

Yeah, it's gross. The hood especially looks stupid and makes me angry somehow.

Those design pictures remind me of the Barchetta Image somewhat.

Grafting a 500 front end onto a Barchetta-like body really doesn't do it for me...

Folks, there are no confirmed, accurate images of what the new 124 Spider will look like. The car pictured in the article is a "500 Spider". The text is poorly translated, but (with a slight rewording by yours truly) it clearly says:

"Of course we don't know what the new Fiat 124 Spider will look like, but for those who want to get an idea of the new product from Lingotto, here is a series of images from designer David Obendorfer of the 500 Spider [concept] which could be a starting point for the design of the new Fiat 124."

Am I mildly annoyed that this Fiat 500 Spider concept has "breasts" on the hood? Yes. But that that is a matter unrelated to the design of the new 124.

All the speculation at this point is just that: speculation. These publications have to fill column inches with something, so they write stories with little news illustrated by Photoshopped pictures and photos of other concept cars.
