I think that was only the 3rd time the top was put down.. New Velcro as well..

I also didnt want to push it down to far yet as it hasn't had a chance to stretch well yet since there haven't been a lot of hot sunny days here.

When its up its tight as a button though. Which is probably more important..

Looks great.

Thanks for the Naramata Nut Brown.. It was awesome.. ! But did find one thing odd.. never seen a Canned Microbrew..

Wish Legend had cans I could then ship you some without fear of damage.

Probably going to chance it anyway.

I just caught this "work for beer" thread today. Really, really nice job! :D And the bumpers look especially good. Mine are rusty and now I have the solution. Thanks fpr posting a lot of pics.

Great job on the car. If they were made of wood I could probably make one look that good  You are truly a great friend to spend your free time re-building their car. I'd say you have resurrected a car that was headed for the crusher. It may not win the Concours d'Elegance but I'd be willing to bet it will be a fun, reliable, eye-catching car. Keep of the good work!

Thanks, the $30 re-chrome I think is a really good solution for the budget impaired, and as mentioned done it on a few cars. Best thing is if it gets srcatched or scared, its a $0 repair (if you saved your tape, and paint).

To answer your PM.. I didnt remove anything off when painted it. I will say a better job will be had if you do and have the room to hang it. I didn't beacuse of room and time constrants. I would not recommend removing the doors though.. they can be fun to align, also eaise to prep them. What I did was prep the jamb with the doors off, primed them and painted with black paint. So when we did paint the doors with them on the car. Old paint colors didnt show up.. just black. I do that with the engine bay (Duplicolor truck bed liner in a can), grille and trunk areas as well.

I thought your might like to see my repainted bumper that I just finished. Also I did the license plate mod similar to Pintopower's Fiat.

Looks great! Are the tubes painted or chromed? How did you treat the rubber parts? Dye?

No, the bumper is not chromed. Its Dupli-color Silver Rim paint: 3 coats color, 3 coats clear. The black rubber pads are the originals: I used super fine (0000) steel wool to clean then up, then used Mother's Back-to-Black stuff to make them shiney.

The plate light is an LED strip (Pep Boys) thats tucked up in the recess above the plate. I had to grind off some of the plastic to get it to fit, but it works perfectly. :) I will take a picture at dusk to show the illumination.

What it looks like at night:

The LED's are very bright, maybe too bright.

What about the existing plate mounting and plate/backup light holes on the valence? Looks like they were never there! Nice job.

I counter sinked the holes, and JBWelded them closed with copper pennys backing up the holes. Then sanded and preped the panel.
