Sun visor on a 78

Postby Kta124 » Tue Jul 11, 2017 10:15 am

Hi guys,

I know this may look like a stupid question, but need some more information about visors... One of you may know and it's free to ask!
My car is a 78 and for some parts I had to dig into the 79 and later ones category... Don't ask me how I know!
I noticed this is also the case for the visors that change from 79 up. My driver side visor's armature broke just at the pivot into the visor, thereofre I need to change it I guess...
My "problem" is: I need to be sure to buy the good one, they are pricey, sometimes comes only by pair, and living in France they are harder to come by than on the other side of the pound.
I understood that the pivot pins can be of different size, some are the same as Alfa Spider visors (more parts availability for me), etc...
My pin is 8mm can you guys help me to narrow my search?

Thanks/Merci!

Hi,

Sergio from Spiderpoint answered to my question. In their catalog, the 8mm pins are on the 79 and above visor models, my car being a 78 has been equiped with the 79+ model of visor.
Conclusion, if your visor breaks, measure the pin, if 5mm, earlier model of visors (same as the alfas) will fit, otherwise if 8mm go for the other ones. Above all, in my case I am glad I checked

Cheers
