Ferrari red

Postby MikeAyuso » Fri Sep 22, 2017 3:58 pm

Hello friends,

I am planning to repaint my 1984 Pininfarina Azzurra Spider which has the original red body paint. I will need to go to my local paint supplier where they can mix match colors. I would like to know if anyone has any info in getting a Ferrari red. I saw a video on Yourtube that gave me the idea. For reference only: https://youtu.be/Nt26ATXZ3zI?list=LLDTL ... jxyNPWKvGA

I live in Belize, and we do not have the same brand paint as shown in the video, but I am pretty sure my local paint supplier can match it, but I need to give them the specific color code.

Any ideas?

Regards,
Mike

I bet the Ferrari group on Facebook could answer that pretty quickly? They probably could give you a paint code number for what you want. If you want to match the present color on the red car, taking the gas fill cover off and having it scanned is a good way to color match from a sample.

Will have a look thanks. And yes taking off the gas fill cover is what is normally used as a sample to get a matching paint color.

Mine's Rosso Corsa#300/1. Although /1 is harder to find, /6 or /12 are more abundant and the differences in shade is very negligible. Great choice if prep is properly done.

Here's a link to Ferrari paint colors...Ferrari used many different shades of red ('rosso' in Italian), so you'll have to pick your favorite.

And you're original color (1984 Pininfarina Azzurra) was 152 Rosso Vivo. You should have a paint sticker on the under side of your trunk lid.

By the way my Fiat is on its way being shipped and will still have a look at the sticker color code when it arrives by next weekend. Can hardly wait.
