Hi,
I'll check on the holes at the weekend.
Pretty sure there was no limit to seat travel :-)
Again I'll check at the weekend.

Just curious if you used the original front hole, or the original back hole, to go with the new 8 mm hole you drilled. Also, did it limit the seat travel at all? I've been trying to get my head around the best way to do it, as it seems the extra screw will interfere with the little roller inside the rail.

Right, finally managed to get a seat out and check the holes.
New 8mm hole is at the back end of the rail.

Thanks for making the effort. For the Nurburgring R (reclining back), I ended up having to drill the hole at the front of the track and even then had to make quite an effort to install them. The seat bottoms are longer on the reclining versions and it is simply impossible to access all 4 bolts for mounting the rails to the floor posts, no matter where you drill the extra hole or how far you push them back. Bit of a nuisance, but a nice result in the end (had to switch the rails left and right as well, as the seat bottom obscured the handle otherwise). The "R"s are about an inch taller than the standard Fiat seats (maybe the foam settle down), so for a Spider I would definitely go with the fixed-back seats you have.

Your's do look nice though...
I found the best way to put the seats in was - hang the front allen (hexagon) bolts through their correct holes in the seat rails with the seats at the back end of their travel and line them up over the captive nuts before loosely attaching. Then push the seats forward on the rails to get the allen bolts in at the back. These ones are easy enough to get pretty tight using a normal allen key.

The front ones are hard to access though and I used the above 'multi-angled' key with a ball type end.

you can even use the old seat rails with by drilling an 8mm hole in each rail to match the holes in the seats.
i got mine direct from http://www.bielstein.com/BF-Sitze/bf-sitze.html via their ad on ebay.

Hi Andy,
Great find! I ordered up a set as well.
Once they arrive I'll take some final measurements to get some new seatbelts made. I'm curious what you think of the stock 3-point belt setup with these seats? eg. how does the length and style of the stock female belt receptacle work? It doesn't look like the seats are setup for pass-thru lap-belts?
