Harting electric fuel pump

Postby grasshopper » Sun Jun 25, 2017 10:50 am

Hi all. Does anyone know if the original electric fuel pump on a 76 Spider is made by a company called "Harting" ? If so,how much psi do they put out ? Is it good for dual carb set up ? Can they be serviced as in replacement parts inside or whatever ? Any info greatly appreciated..

Harting is a German pump similar to SU. Used very commonly in British cars so maybe original in the Fiat as well? In any case you'll want a fuel pressure gauge and pressure control device if you are going to a dual setup so why not hook it up to one now and see what kind of pressure it makes? Keep in mind it will also have to deliver the desired flow rate. Most carbs only need 2.5 to 3.5 lbs pressure unlike fuel injection which requires 30 to 60 psi.
