Postby slflynt » Sat Apr 21, 2018 12:08 pm

Hello, would anybody care to look at the image below and tell me if I am just blind and not seeing the timing marks or is that protrusion supposed to be used in some way? Thanks in advance! :?

My timing mark on my 83 is on the passenger side.
You can also remove #1 spark plug and put a screwdriver in the hole. Put the screwdriver to the highest point and you are at TDC.

Yes, now you need a timing light. 0-5-10 from the top.
Also, unplug the vacuum hose from the distributor and plug it.
Idle 850-900 RPM

It was not in the book but if I remember properly, it was to be shure that the vacuum did not put some advance on your timing.
