adjusting linkage on idf's

Postby grasshopper » Mon Aug 21, 2017 7:13 pm

Hi all. I am in the process of getting dual idf carbs running well. Everything is rough right now. As far as linkage adjustment goes, can anyone tell me a good starting point for the linkage tab to be adjusted ? Several turns of the screw or is it good just after contact ? I'm not talking about throttle screw. Any help appreciated thanks.

I don't know anything about IDF's, but you might want to start by reading the IDF tunig guide... It's the stickied post in the engine subsection two entries above yours :D

Disconnect the linkage from the throttle to the carbs. Tune the carbs in pairs, front pair, back pair. then adjust the screw for the front to back connection. All should have the same air flow reading. Then adjust the main idle screw between the carbs for correct rpm Once that is done, reconnect the throttle linkage/cable and adjust to maintain idle
