Oil pan differences? Best option for 1800?

I've got 3 1800 engines. Assuming they're original to the cars, at least two should be from late 1978s and all 3 have banged up oil pans. I've seen some vendors lump all the 1800 oil pans together while some have pre and post-'76 options. Can anyone tell me what changed with respect to the pans and gaskets?

I should add, does anyone have further information on baffles, scrapers, etc that might be good add-ons while replacing the pan?

oil pans on all fiat twincams 1585cc, 1592cc and 1756cc are interchangeable.
no major differences
you should add baffle while you're at it

Will a 2.0l oil pan work on a late 1800 engine with the same 2 bolt offset on the side?

So the 2L engine has a deeper pan and lower motor mounts? Throw in lowering the suspension and you're just asking for trouble! It also sounds like you're saying we could swap a 2L oil pump and pan onto the late 1800 for increased capacity..

At sea point I'd love to see some installation photos of that skid plate AR, Vicks, and others sell. I don't know why fiat parts vendors all seem to be competing for the shortest descriptions and least number of low-res product photos.

That's some cool information. I'd seen the winged sump being sold as a guy croft racing option for $1k+, but if it's possibly out there as an oem/used part I might be able to score a good deal on one =)

I think someone on the forum posted a thread on repairing their oil pan and adding a steel/skid-plate reinforcement. Seeing how it bangs out is probably the smart start while looking around for a used, winged pan...

There was a 2.0L Argenta pan which had wings.. I believe Guy Croft has some information about that somewhere on his forum as well. As Steve indicated when as well... one would require the corresponding oil pump pick up to make this option work... and that all depends on even finding one. Last NOS set up like that I had I think went for ~$500.

The down side to converting to a 2.0L pan would be the distance from the road. Of all the motors offered in the 124, the 2.0L was historically most prone to oil starvation failure due to reckless owners knocking the pan on a dip an breaking the O/P pick up.
