79 intake vs single plane intake questions...pics inside

Postby Fiatlanta » Tue Apr 25, 2017 11:13 am

Putting in the single plane intake and Chinese 34ADF and have a couple questions...specifically, as noted in the picture...what are all the marked bits for?

Image

These are the vacuum nipples that came with the intake. I'm thinking the T has one side for the brake servo vacuum line and the other side for?? Could I hook up the charcoal canister to it? My new carb does not have the charcoal canister input.

And the other smaller tree with two lines?

Thanks!

Don;t hook up the charcoal canister to it unless you put a restrictor in the line - has to be a metered holes.
The one on the 1800 manifold with 2 small nipples is a temp switch, just leave it alone. The horizontal connections on both manifold are for coolant for the water choke.

Thank you!

So I can use the larger hole on the T for the brake servo?

Where would I connect the charcoal canister then?

Yes, you can use the Tee for the brake booster. The nipples for the charcola canister have a very tiny hole, so you'd have to find one of those, or put a restrictor inside the vacuum line.

I ended up eliminating the charcoal canister altogether and venting my gas cap.

Put the stock air cleaner back on and was wondering where the smaller port going into the bottom hooks up to? Larger input, of course, is the crankcase breather hose, but it seems like the smaller port connects to vacuum or something, maybe?
