New Spider Mods.

Postby fiathead » Sun Dec 04, 2016 12:47 pm

What has everyone been doing to their new Spiders so far? Right now, the only mod I've done on mine is the GFB DV+ diverter valve mod. I don't think it provides any power increase, but does clean up the boost map a bit. I don't have a dyno, so cannot confirm and real changes, but given the sloppyness of the fit of the stock valve compared to the new one, there must be a horsepower or two gained with the update. I think that the real benefit is that the new valve allows a bit of boost pressure to be retained during up shifts where as the factory valve was binary in operation. It is either open or close, so it dumps all boost pressure on the upshift.

I'm planning on eventually chipping the car and down the road, the car will get a suspension package, wheels and tires and exhaust mods.
Thanks,
Tim

We added the diverter valve, put on our 'straight pipe' exhaust (available soon), lowered it, and added swaybars.
Oh, and wrapped the hood and trunk in matt black.

Nothing else has been done yet. The car has been in winter storage and will still be there for another couple of weeks. I sure envy you southern guys.
Thanks,
Tim
