Beggars can't be choosers, but it would be nice to be able to EASILY post pics like other forums...how do we make this happen? Is it a $$ issue? I have a feeling our little place on the web here would explode with fun and helpful pics and info.

We put a deposit down on a Prima Edizione, but I can't seem to get any information from our local dealer on status of these cars availability . . . Or for any of the new 124s for that matter. This is so bazaar! Why wouldn't FIAT want to advertise and publicize when this new model hits the sales room floors?? Why is info so hard to come by through the dealer? It's not the dealer's fault, I don't believe. It's something weird with how FIAT is rolling this model out. Quite perplexed here.

Seems like a carbon copy of how Fiat handled their re-entry into the U.S. market with the 500.
Marketing doesn't appear to be their strong suit.
And I agree, it doesn't appear to be a dealer issue. I talked with a local one in Phoenix and was pretty much told that they'll have them when they have them.

This is decidedly 2nd hand -- based on a friend's experience, not my own -- but it seems as if another old-time Fiat issue has returned. So-so at best dealers.

This friend is a long time Fiat lover. The 500 is the third in his current 'fleet" and he was SO excited about it.

Within months two things were clear to him. How much he loved the car, and how much he disliked the dealer. In his words they were totally untrustworthy. (His language was a bit, uh, "saltier.")

My use of "they" it should be noted only refers to the multiple people at this single dealership. Others may be wonderful.

And that is just how it was said to be back when our older Spiders were being sold. Some people had rave experiences -- dealerships that were made up of true car enthusiasts. And others whose dealer seemed interested in nothing but a quick sale and then seeing their back. Have a problem? You are on your own.

I've bought my five last cars from the same Nissan dealer. Four different models. When asked "why? I am honest. Yes, the Nissans are nice cars. But not nicer than, say, a Honda. No, I go back for the dealer. And I expect I ever will. They are superb in every way. They bend over backwards to make things right. And there is never any question who matters most to them: You, the costumer.

I hope to yet hear similar stories about Fiat dealerships. But I haven't yet.

All dealerships are not created equal.

I send my deposit to Benson Fiat in NC (home of FCA president John Montgomery) exactly 1 year ago to the date of purchase. The reason we are going 1/2 way across America to buy our Spider is simply customer service.

I purchased the 2nd (possibly the 1st) Fiat sold in the state 6 ears ago from my local dealer. One would think that this was a red letter day for a then recently widowed Saturn dealership. But when I approached them last year wanting to give them money to let me buy the 1st 124 the would not give me the time of day. John was more than happy to help me acquire my 1st car... even to the point of letting me know it was on the truck to his door.

In my book customer service goes a long way... and Benson Fiat in NC has earned my business for going the extra mile. Maybe that's why they sell some many Fiats and Alfa 4c's.
