I prefer to change them to a Euro look; that is a round marker but led so they are quite bright compared to the old incandescent bulbs 8)

Plus, with the large markers, you will have a somewhat unique car in France!

This is all tongue in cheek. Arguing about the relative merits of European versus North American side markers is a silly and perennial favorite topic around here! :)

I am affraid that most of the spiders that are curently in France are US importation cars with the big side markers, the "unique" factor does not stand here, however I agree with the idea to wire them so they are paired with the turn signals...

That is interesting, as most of the pics I see on FB, etc. from Europe show small bulb cars!

Here is a great web link to a resource for wiring the side markers so that they will flash in unison with the turn signals. It can be done for free by wiring them as instructed, but they will flash in opposition to the bumper signals. Alternatively, there is a neat little device this fellow sells that works to have them flash in unison with the bumper turn signals, while still functioning as position markers.

I came back in France a bit more then 2 years ago, and I saw only very few fiat spiders, 4 including mine to be exact. Their were all american importation cars... This is not a very reprensative "crowed" to judge it all but it is what I saw! :D
Thanks for the link for the blinkers by the way, I will dig into it!

I have put the engine inside the car and try to find all the connections for the wiring ..... In fact I loose all the pictures I took when I have disconnected every thing. I wonder if somebody have the wiring diagram for a pininfarina spider from 1984, I found on the forum a SVG document but impossible to print it in a good quality.
Thank you in advance

I know this site and the documents inside but it is for spider 1982 and the 1984 has some difference.

Mirafiori.com has the 1984 wire diagram posted. you have to be a member to view the library which is where it it located.

After you sign in select library. Then select 124 the scroll down to find 1984 wire diagram.
The "Spider 2000 Electrical Diagnostic Manual 1980-81" is an excellent reference book for understanding Fiat circuit operation. The majority of you circuits will be explained in that manual. Very little difference if any in the engine compartment. Most of the difference is in the steering column lighting switch operation and I believe the 1984 prints have errors in that switch drawing.

That dashboard looks fantastic! Did you use 4-way or 2-way stretch vinyl? I did mine a while back in 2-way but had difficulty and the glue has failed in the sun.
