Postby JammerX19 » Sat May 19, 2012 11:01 pm

Could anyone with the plug wire holder bracket on their car please take some pictures and measurements of it so I could reproduce it?

81SPIDERMATT,

Is that a factory piece or something you or another owner installed?

Big juju goes to 81spidermatt for such a thorough and helpful reply! The folks on this forum are awesome.

Well, except for the intolerant ones - they should not be tolerated.

Looks the same as the one on my 81. Pretty sure it's original. I have seen pictures on the forum showing ones that hold each wire individually and would like to have one those.

I found a set of chrome wire looms for a V8 at my local NAPA store, 2 pieces that hold 4 wires each.
I used one of them mounted to the valve cover to hold my wires separate.
It holds them fairly high, more in line with the distributor, with no problems with hood clearance.
It also has rubber grommets (8 of each color) that go around each wire where they go thru the bracket that I haven't installed yet.

Here's a pic of the one I put on my car

That looks like what I would like. Might prevent arcing between wires but will it fit with my FI?

Anyone know the bolt/stud size that holds the plug holder to the cover?
