Nice work and very inspiring for first-timer me. Thank you for sharing!
I'm currently struggling getting past the body work stage. Seems like forever, circling the car like a vulture, but now every time around I'm getting to more and more minor details. There's got to be a point soon when I can't feel unevenness or see guide coat.
Front lower corners took me a long time blending in all of the radii smooth after filling bumper and blinker holes, then to find the factory welds at front and rear corners needed to be worked as well.
Door checks - The worst damage to my car was due to my right door check failure sometime in the past. That really messed up my right fender. I found a piece of foam duct taped to it to try and limit opening.

Progress from December 1, 2017 to January 1, 2018. Picked the car up after paint on Dec. 1. Really happy with the overall result, but there were a few dust/dirt nibs from the booth. So I decided to wetsand the whole car and do what is called a 'flowcoat', where you essentially paint the car twice, giving the paint more depth and shine. Trying to tape body lines after the car is painted (especially darker colors) took some patience, but I eventually got pretty good at it. For the second coat, we rented a down-draft high end booth to shoot, and the car came back looking like glass. For some reason can't get more photos to upload to imgur right now so I'll add the second half of the paint job later.

How cool is this, my painter used a paint gun designed by Pininfarina to shoot the car.

The restoration was completed in June 2019, marked by passing CA smog. Since then, little adjustments and refinements have occurred since but have really been enjoying driving the car. Here is some backlogged work I did from 2018, hope you enjoy.
