Ken- What a great looking car! I love all the mods you have done & the paint color is really nice. What's the color if I may ask? Looking forward to next pics. Thanks. Ken

Where did you find that style roll bar?

The color is a 1960’s Ford pickup color, candy apple red, the roll bar is a Miata bar but I have taken all the windows out of the car leaving more room for the width of this bar, the back windows would be in the way without some modification to the roll bar. I have the car in storage just now as I am working on a different car, hope to get back to the Fiat sometime next month.

The car is still not finished, I have some early 74 parking lights and I want to scoop the hood and replace the tail lights but it will be a while before I get back to it. But here it is as it will be for this summer.

very nice mods! I have been toying with a backseat deck cover as well. Did you trim the weld seam behind the back seat. none of your pix are far enough away to see what you did with that edge sticking up. is the deck metal or glass.

It's looking good Ken! Where did you get the emergency brake handle?

I love the interior. The simplicity of it. I love the door panels with just the pull handles and the simplified yet more functional dash. Freakin amazing car.

I wish I had the kind of vision to put something like that together.

Nice work with the handle. Was it hard to take off the other one or did you have to break it?

looks like you trimmed out the top of the doors as well. so does this mean you are topless or have you worked out a toneau cover.

The old handle came off everytime I used it, the way they made the brake handle I would think there is a lot of diameter variation, I made this one .005 small.
All the glass except for the windshild is gone, I am making a tonneau cover but its not done yet.

Any pictures/details on your center console elimination? I love the look of straight shifter out of the floor. Much classier. Im curious as to what kind of panel you made to hide all the wires and such behind the original radio console. There is quite a mess back there stock. Also curious for a better look at your radio mounting as well as the switch panel you have under there.

I think Fiat had one wire harness that fits all the cars they make, or at least that is what it seems. I just cut out all the unused wire and shortened all the excessively long wire, that removed more than half the wire. One of the modifications I made to the wire harness was to ground the battery to the motor instead of the body and run a dedicated ground wire to all the ground pods.
The console also holds the cables for the heater, to remove it you need some kind of plan to have heater control, that wasn’t a concern of mine I just used push pull cables under the dash but I have used BMW controls on cars in the past.
